My Bio
My name is Laurie A. Masters (hence "LAM"). I am from Peterborough, ON, Canada. I am primarily a portrait artist, but I also do abstracts and I design and make dolls. Being a huge music fan and film/tv buff, my subjects are mostly musicians and actors. I did a portrait of Ellen Degeneres which I sent to her, and it appeared on her talk show twice, once in a segment with Jennifer Aniston and a second time when Ellen took viewer art to the MET in NYC. I have also done portraits of Flight of the Conchords and Tom Lennon (RENO 911!, 17 Again), both of whom posted my work to their Myspace and Facebook pages, and both of whom I've met (Tom actually recognized me and called me by name when I met him in Los Angeles!) I have won some awards for my paintings, had an entire article written about me in a local paper after my first participation in an art show, I am saught after for commissions, I have a Facebook fan page ("Laurie's Art") currently with 278 members and I have a solo show of my paintings and dolls happening right now in Ennismore, ON, Canada.

NEW PRESS!!!

Last year, I took part in my first art show at the Norwood Legion in Norwood, ON, CAN.  From that show, I got alot of exposure from a feature article written about in me in the Northwest EMC.   This past week, an article was published in the EMC about this year's show, and my inclusion in last year's show, as well as some of my accomplishments after the show, are featured in the article.  A photo of me with my "Johnny" painting at last year's event is also included. Here is the link for the most recent article: http://www.emcnorthwest.ca/20110623/news/Art+show+promises+more+delights
